Cara Pettit | Founder & Lead Planner

Hi, I’m Cara, founder and lead planner of Walnut Studio Events. I believe wedding planning should feel organized, collaborative, and a whole lot less overwhelming. My approach is equal parts thoughtful logistics and genuine care. I’m the person keeping track of the details, asking the questions you may not know to ask, communicating with vendors, and making sure the plan actually works — while always keeping sight of what matters to you.

Before starting Walnut Studio, I spent more than a decade working in roles centered around client relationships, communication, problem-solving, and managing a lot of moving pieces at once. Those skills translated naturally into wedding planning, where being organized matters just as much as being able to stay calm, adapt quickly, and take care of people. I’m based in Omaha, where I offer planning and coordination services, and I travel throughout the U.S. for full-planning weddings. Whether I’m helping you build everything from the ground up or stepping in to bring the final details together, my goal is the same: for you to feel supported throughout the process and fully present when the wedding day arrives.

When I'm not working on a wedding, you'll probably find me with a good cup of coffee, planning my next trip, or spending time with my family & dogs. I love beautiful spaces, nature, thoughtful details, and celebrations that feel like the people they're actually for. I'm drawn to weddings that feel intentional rather than overly produced — where good design and a really good guest experience can coexist.
